Where to Start
Most trainees will begin applying for teaching roles in the spring and early summer terms. However vacancies can appear throughout the year.
It's important to start looking early, prepare a personal statement and apply for roles that are the right fit for you.

Common types of tasks:

Mini teach (plan and deliver a lesson)

Assessment of core skills (English and Maths)

Application Stage
This is the first chance to create a good impression to your employer.
In your personal statement you should:

Clearly explain WHY you want to teach

Demonstrate your impact on pupils during your training

Show your understanding of behaviour management and classroom practice

Reflect your subject knowledge and enthusiasm
-
Always give examples and what you learned from them.

Interview Stage
If you are shortlisted, you'll usually be invited to a full interview.
