Our Training Hubs

At Prestolee SCITT, we offer two exceptional training hubs where the majority of in-person theoretical training takes place. Each hub provides excellent transport links and is staffed by experienced trainers dedicated to supporting your journey into teaching.

Bolton Hub

Prestolee Primary School

Situated in Radcliffe, our Bolton Hub is based at Prestolee Primary School. The school's location offers easy access to major transport routes, including the M60 and M61 motorways, facilitating convenient travel for trainees from across Greater Manchester.

Additionally, the Radcliffe Metrolink station provides direct tram services to Manchester city centre and Bury, while the nearby Kearsley Train Station is easy to access from major train routes, enhancing connectivity for those using public transport. Bus routes are also easily accessible for trainees

Our Tameside Hub is located at Waterloo Primary School in Ashton-under-Lyne. This hub boasts excellent transport connections, with the M60 motorway nearby and the Ashton-under-Lyne railway station offering regular services to Manchester and beyond.

The adjacent Ashton-under-Lyne tram stop on the East Manchester Line and frequent bus routes near the school further enhances accessibility for trainees commuting via public transport.

Central Training

There are selected occassions where we bring all of our trainees together from our two hubs for central training sessions. The majority of these sessions will take place at the Burnside Centre in Middleton. This award-winning community facility is located at 36 Burnside Crescent, Langley, Middleton, Manchester, M24 5NN.

The centre is well-served by several bus routes, providing direct connections to Manchester city centre, Bury, Heywood, and Rochdale. Mills Hill railway station is also approximately a 10-minute drive away, offering regular services to Manchester and other destinations. â€‹ When we convene at a central venue, trainees benefit from a collaborative environment that fosters networking and shared learning experiences across our training cohorts.
