Our experience days are open to anyone considering a career in teaching. Whether you’re a recent graduate, a final-year student, or thinking about a career change, this is a great opportunity to explore the profession before applying for teacher training.

What to Expect

During the day, you’ll gain valuable insight into teaching by observing two different classes across the school, giving you the chance to experience a range of age groups and teaching styles.

You will:

• Observe two live classroom lessons

• See what a typical school day looks like for teachers and pupils

• Learn more about the teacher training journey

• Receive guidance on applications and interview preparation

This experience will help you decide whether teaching is the right career for you and support you in choosing between primary and secondary teaching pathways.

Who are we?

Prestolee SCITT is an Ofsted Outstanding provider of initial teacher training, working with a strong partnership of schools across Greater Manchester.

With training hubs based in Radcliffe (North Manchester) and Ashton-under-Lyne (East Manchester), our programmes are designed to immerse trainees in school life from the very start. You’ll learn directly from experienced teachers and mentors while gaining practical experience in a range of partner schools across the region.

Our training routes lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with the option to gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) alongside your training.
